An opportune time to conduct evidence-informed trainings that equip professionals, coaches, and educators to thoughtfully integrate mindfulness & embodiment techniques with their existing modalities.
You bring the lived experience and teaching or coaching background. We bring the structure, marketing materials, curriculum and manual — grounded in credible, verifiable, and inspiring research.
Dear friends and colleagues,
If you’re experienced in mindfulness and embodiment practices, now is your moment to make a profound impact by sharing these extraordinary tools with educators, coaches, and health & wellness providers — preparing them to thoughtfully integrate these practices into their existing modalities.
We’ve paved the way for you to step forward with confidence into a leadership role, guiding more people to experience these transformative practices. After decades of time-tested development, we bring a reliable, uniquely powerful system for delivering world-class, evidence-informed support materials — materials you can customize and share as your own.
I’ll explain how we support you behind the scenes — but first, I want to share why I believe there has never been a better time to deliver these trainings.
An Unprecedented Moment of Opportunity
Having had my finger on the pulse of health systems and trends for decades, I am convinced we are at a pivotal moment of change and opportunity that hasn’t been available since the publication of the Flexner Report in 1910.
Let’s briefly recap key outcomes from that report to highlight what makes today so meaningful. You can skip ahead to the Integrated Yoga Training information below, but I encourage you to share this summary — or create your own based on verifiable evidence. Providing clients with an accurate historical context for the medical decisions they face helps them make sense of what they’ve experienced and why some important information comes from outside establishment medicine.
The report authored by Abraham Flexner in 1910 was verifiably compromised by business interests and set the stage for the monopolistic rise of allopathic medicine. Flexner visited all 155 medical schools in the US and Canada and then produced the report with its blatantly biased and unscientific conclusions. As a result of this report, U.S. medical training was consolidated, forced to dismiss health techniques that had worked for generations and adopt the narrow philosophies of the new pharmaceutical industry. Medical schools and doctors were required to shun non-drug procedures and techniques including homeopathy, herbal medicines, chiropractic and much more.
This system was built to capitalize on drug patents.
It neither acknowledges the natural conditions under which the body generates health nor seeks to address the root causes of illness.
Instead, it suppresses symptoms with pharmaceuticals, with the drugs often creating additional symptoms and harms while diverting attention from true healing.
The corruption that enabled such a narrow approach to dominate healthcare has harmed countless people and been exposed by an ever-expanding range of sources, making it increasingly recognized by the wider public.
We are witnessing formerly dominant systems begin to crumble, and more providers and individuals are opening themselves to new ways of doing things. As a result, we now have far greater freedom to shape the future of wellness. Moving forward, the expansion of authentic, transformative healing is not just possible — it feels inevitable.
About Integrated Yoga Training
Integrated Yoga Training is an evidence-informed training to prepare professionals, coaches, and educators to thoughtfully integrate mindfulness and embodiment techniques with their existing modalities.
You, as the teacher, determine the training length and format.
Templates and manual materials are provided for two levels, offering structure with unlimited flexibility.
When the Word “Yoga” Gets in the Way
The program is called Integrated Yoga Training because it’s especially well-suited for yoga teachers and practitioners, and because most of the supporting research uses yoga- and meditation-based interventions and terminology. However, if you work in a setting where the word yoga may be a barrier — as Richard C. Miller PhD and others found in military contexts — you can easily adapt the language to fit your environment. In Miller’s case, Yoga Nidra techniques were reframed as iRest.
Likewise, all Integrated Yoga Training materials are fully customizable, allowing you to use terminology that best aligns with your organization, audience, and setting.
Two Options + A Progressive Pathway
Integrated Yoga training is offered in two levels. It also offers an optional progressive pathway toward a full yoga teacher training.
Integrated Yoga Core Training — A foundations training designed to deepen the trainee’s personal practice, refine their skillful use of yoga-based tools, and support thoughtful integration with other modalities. For experienced yoga practitioners, the Core Training may provide sufficient depth.
Integrated Yoga Advanced Training – Building upon the Core Training, the Advanced Training more fully prepares non-yoga teachers and professionals to confidently and safely integrate yoga teachings and techniques with complementary disciplines.
Yoga Teacher Training (Optional Pathway) – For those interested in further development, additional training focused on the art of teaching and deeper study of yoga tools completes a full 200-hour yoga teacher training.
Programmatic Support
We provide the following training materials and support:
Marketing package with promotion content, responses to frequently asked questions, and peer-reviewed research formatted for presentations, consultations, and marketing communications
Modular curriculum and syllabus for both a Core Training and Advanced Training — flexible and customizable for different program lengths and scopes
Lecture notes
Trainee guide and training manual
Optional 1:1 consultations to discuss readiness, provide feedback and offer referrals for additional support if needed
All materials are fully customizable with rights to self-brand and distribute.
What You, as the Teacher, Bring
Lived experience with the techniques, and a background in teaching or coaching
The training environment (in-person, online, or hybrid) and overall format, including dates and the balance between practice and lecture

Marketing & Promotion
If you’re considering stepping up, here’s how you might describe this training opportunity to your clients.
Executive Summary
This evidence-informed training prepares professionals, coaches, and educators to thoughtfully integrate mindfulness and embodiment techniques into their existing modalities with clarity and confidence.
Benefits
The practical techniques you’ll learn enhance the services you already provide, delivering immediate and tangible benefits — such as a greater sense of calm, focus, and clarity — while also supporting longer-term, measurable outcomes documented by a substantial body of peer-reviewed research.
Context
Integrated Yoga reflects a real-time evolution in care — one that prioritizes evidence over policy and adaptable solutions over one-size-fits-all prescriptions.
Providers who describe their work as multidisciplinary, integrative, or holistic often use such terms to convey a thoughtful, discerning approach: drawing from a range of techniques and therapies to select what best fits the needs of each situation. This training is grounded in that same spirit of mindful discernment and responsive application.
Training Outcomes
We’re honored to support you in expanding your toolkit with evidence-based mindfulness practices and embodiment techniques. Through this training, you will gain:
A professional and practical introduction to yoga, mindfulness and embodiment — designed to equip non-yoga teachers with the knowledge and confidence to safely integrate evidence-based mindfulness and embodiment techniques into personal practice and client care.
A strong foundation for advancing your own practice, refining your skillful use of yoga-based tools, and integrating mindfulness and embodiment techniques in conjunction with other modalities.
The ability to thoughtfully weave mindfulness teachings and embodiment techniques with complementary disciplines such as holistic medicine, education, therapy, and coaching.
A versatile toolbox of strategies and techniques informed by multiple yoga styles and traditions, with an emphasis on accessible, adaptable practices that anyone can do to reduce pain and stress, enhance responsiveness to other modalities*, cultivate greater ease in the body, and improve overall quality of life.
An enriched knowledgebase, expanded toolkit of resources, and strengthened resume — along with renewed inspiration to incorporate effective, evidence-informed tools into both personal and professional settings.
*Regarding responsiveness to other modalities, the founder of Yoga Teacher Central shared this experience as an example:
“I taught a weekly 35-minute yoga class during lunchtime at a Seattle-area high school for teens who had experienced trauma. After a few weeks, counselors reported that their sessions were noticeably more productive and successful when scheduled after yoga. As a result, the social services administrator adjusted the calendar so that, whenever possible, counseling sessions followed the yoga class”.
I look forward to working with you to equip more providers with transformative tools.
Sincerely,
Shelly Thorn
