Planning Ahead: Considerations for March 2026
Equinox and Astrological New Year + Navratri: Honoring the many facets of the Divine Feminine
Higher Harmony
It is said that on the Equinox, the energy grid of the planet moves into higher harmony, allowing us to soak in the healing powers of Mother Nature with greater ease. With the energy grid of the planet alive and awakened, we can also replenish our own energy centers of the body and send our thoughts and intentions out into the Universe for creation.

Mar 19-27: Navratri
Honoring the many facets of the Divine Feminine
Navratri (or Navaratri) — meaning “nine nights” in Sanskrit — is a Hindu festival devoted to expressing reverence for, and celebration of, Shakti, the feminine form of the Divine. Over the course of nine nights, three forms of the goddess are honored for three nights each, culminating on the tenth day with Vijayadashami (also known as Dussehra, Dasara, and Dassahra).
Durga represents the transformative power of the feminine — the force that both destroys or dissolves and creates.
Lakshmi embodies the qualities of abundance, love, and prosperity.
Saraswati symbolizes knowledge, wisdom, and creative expression through music and the arts.
Navratri is widely regarded as an especially auspicious time for meditation and spiritual practice. Many teachers describe it as a period when inner work is amplified, making meditation particularly supportive for clarity, renewal, and deep transformation.
Consciousness and the forces of nature are personified as gods and goddesses. Many of the most powerful deities in ancient societies were goddesses.
Divine Feminine archetypes within the yoga tradition originate from the Great Goddess, Maha Devi (also spelled Mahadevi).
She is known by many names including Divine Mother, the Great Mother, Mahesvari (”Great Lady” or power of Maheshvara), and Parashakti (”Supreme Power” or “Transcendent Energy”).
In several yoga traditions, the Great Goddess is understood to manifest in a multiplicity of forms, including Tara, Durga, and Kali.
Across other cultures and traditions, this sacred feminine presence is honored through such figures as Mother Mary, Kuan Yin, Isis, Aphrodite, and others.
The Earth's Fertility & the Creative Force in Nature
Great Mother Goddess, in ancient Middle Eastern religions, was the great symbol of the earth’s fertility. She was worshiped under many names and attributes. Similar figures have been known in every part of the world. Essentially, she was represented as the creative force in all nature, the mother of all things, responsible particularly for the periodic renewal of life.

March 20: Equinox & Astrological New Year
A balance of day and night, light and dark
The spring and fall equinoxes occur midway between the summer and winter solstices. The term equinox comes from the Latin words aequus (equal) and nox (night), reflecting the equal length of day and night at these times.
In Western and Vedic astrology, the new year begins when the sun enters Aries, the first sign of the zodiac.
In Western astrology, this coincides with the spring equinox (Mar 20-21).
In Vedic astrology, it occurs slightly later — typically mid-March to mid-April, depending on the regional calendar.
