Planning Ahead: Considerations for February 2026
"We often forget that we are nature. Nature is not something separate from us. So when we say that we have lost our connection to nature, we’ve lost our connection to ourselves."
When we attune to nature and her cycles, we often feel a profound resonance and begin to recognize parallels in our own nature. This awareness opens us up to a more visceral understanding of how our body, mind, and soul move toward greater balance and well-being.
Through mindfulness, we come to see that our energy, attitude, and health are not static. Our energy naturally fluctuates throughout the day, week, and season — and across our lifespan.
As we deepen our awareness of these natural rhythms, we become more empowered to make conscious choices that align with life’s inherent flows, helping us to move through life with greater energy, ease, and balance.
We often forget that we are nature. Nature is not something separate from us. So when we say that we have lost our connection to nature, we’ve lost our connection to ourselves.

Feb 1/2: Imbolc & Lammas
On Feb 1 or 2 (depending upon the time zone of your location), it is Imbolc in the Northern Hemisphere and Lammas in the Southern.
Imbolc / Imbolg is also known as Candlemas, St. Brigid’s Day and the Feast of Brigid.
It is one of four traditional Gaelic seasonal (“fire”) festivals.
Held halfway between winter solstice (yule) and spring equinox (ostara), Imbolc marks the beginning of spring and the beginning of the agricultural year.
Lammas is also called Lughnasadh.
It is held halfway between summer solstice and fall equinox.
Lammas marks the beginning of the harvest season.

Applying Knowledge of Seasons & Cycles
If you’re interested in aligning with seasonal events but aren’t sure where to begin, here are a few ways to participate — from quiet observation to more intentional and active engagement.
Simply become aware. Choose to notice the current natural phenomena and observe how this phase feels. Over time, you may begin to sense patterns and associations with its underlying energy.
Deepen through learning and practice. Explore related themes, traditions, or practices designed to align with the season’s energy. You might experiment on your own or engage in these practices within a community.
Integrate into your teaching or service. Allow inspiration to guide you in weaving a seasonal element into your work—perhaps a reading, a yoga posture, a breathing practice, a mantra, or another supportive tool.
Create fully aligned offerings. Design a class, workshop, or event that intentionally reflects the themes and energy of this seasonal phase, inviting others into a shared, embodied experience.
